ABOUT RAY :

Ray Reska, one of the original members of the band, first experienced the thrill of big band music in the early 1970’s playing tenor sax in the St. Bonaventure University Stage Band.  While working as a systems engineer in southern California after college, he continued to play clarinet and sax in community concert bands.  He stashed the instruments in the closet while raising his 3 children until he moved to the Huntsville area in 2000.  When he is not busy playing great big band music with Rocket City Jazz Orchestra, he also enjoys performing with a wide variety of local musical groups ranging from clarinet choir and concert band to jazz combos and musical theater pit orchestras.
