ABOUT JAMES:
James is originally from New York City. He is a longlife saxophone player, music instructor and musical director. As a professional musician he has served 29 years in the Army Band program performing throughout the world. James has served in many military and musical leadership positions and his assignments includes the 26th Army Band, NY, 6th Infantry Division (L), Fairbanks Alaska, Camp Zama, Japan, USAREUR Band and Chorus, Heidelberg, Germany, Fort McPherson, GA, the U.S. Armed Forces School of Music, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story Virginia Beach, VA and the Army Materiel Command Band, Redstone Arsenal, AL. In 2011 James created the AMC Four-Star Jazz Orchestra and coordinated joint performances with the Rocket City Jazz Orchestra throughout Huntsville. During his outstanding military service he had earned several Army Achievement medals, Commendation medals, Meritorious Service Medals and the Legion of Merit. Upon his military retirement in 2015 he was invited to join the Rocket City Jazz Orchestra and in 2017 James was selected to serve and is still serving as the President of the Board of Directors for the Rocket City Jazz Orchestra. James also performs with other groups in the local Huntsville area.
