Larry Janzen first picked up the drum sticks in the late '50s. His love for big band music was solidified when, as a member of his high school's stage band, he attended band camps conducted by the Stan Kenton Orchestra. After playing through his college years with the college stage band and touring the southwest with a rock and blues group, he put up the drumsticks to become an adult, raise two children, and earn a living.
35 years later Larry resumed his music career in 2002 when he joined the Rocket City Jazz Orchestra. He also regularly plays blues/rock and jazz with guitarist Jimmy Henderson.
